The Suwanee Greenway
This greenway connects to trails in George Pierce Park. It is 6 miles long and offers great views of undisturbed forests and wetlands where I frequently see wildlife. These trails are well-maintained and bike friendly and include a variety of boardwalks as well as paved paths. Sometimes, trails can be flooded by heavy rain. Be cautious as the trails aren’t very wide.
They are also often crowded with walkers, who don’t know where to place themselves when bikes pass. Although the majority of terrain is flat, there are a few moderately hilly areas at each end. There are miles of trails that meander through the forest, which require little effort to navigate once you have reached George Pierce Park.
The trail’s north side has a boardwalk that leads to Suwanee Town Park, which is also bike-friendly. There are public bathrooms at both ends of the trail as well as in Suwanee Town Park. For those who want to challenge themselves with mountain biking, there are trails through the woods that can be enjoyed for hours.
