Here’s all about Exploring Beautiful Manla Village From Delhi, Stay At Manla Homes Mashobra Road Tripping In Scorpio N
I have been doing road trips across India for a long time now, exploring the villages, countryside and bustling towns/cities across India. I always believe in the ideology “eat with the locals, drink with the locals , live like the locals and tell the local story to the Unlocals. I am unsure if the word “unlocals” exists but I use it as a rhyming word, for a little punch.
During the last 6 years my companion during the road trip was my trusted partner – Renault Duster 4wd. Now it’s time for the change and unveiling my new partner, the big daddy- Scorpio – 4xlpor. I was in no mood to say bye bye to my Duster and thanks to my wife Priyanka who agreed to keep the car for her commute. Whenever I get a chance I still drive the duster. As the lifespan of a diesel car in Delhi is 10 years and as the duster was nearing the threshold I had to buy a new one.

I got delivery of the ScorpioN Z8L manual within 10 days of booking (Thanks to Deepak Sharma, the relationship manager, Mahindra Automobile, Faridabad. He left no stone unturned so that I get a prompt and seamless delivery).

Now the question was whether to get the PPF done or not?
I pondered over it again and again, however considering the Napoli Black color of the car, I decided to go for it.
I got the PPF done at Urban Car Care Noida
If you are planning to do PPF in Delhi/NCR you can opt for Urban Car Care. Highly recommended by Team NomadLawyer.
I had a day off for Eid and with one day leave it turned out to be a long weekend. For a working professional the difficult part is to balance the leaves. I am thankful to my management and the organization for accommodating the leaves when required and letting me pursue my passion of – Travel Writing. I always believe in the mantra “work hard and travel harder”.
Next point to consider was the place of visit as I had just four days, I wanted to keep my driving time one way, not more than 8 hours. I called my friend and travel expert Amit Dhanda, who is the Director at Royal Collection Hotels- Royal Collection Hotels

During the conversation with him he suggested a property in Manla Village, Mashobra named
Manla Village is approximately a 4 kms detour from the Mashobra Highway towards the left-hand side. The roads leading to Manla Village are really narrow with steep harpin and the sides of the roads were ornamented by thick foliage of deodar trees. As spring was setting in the trees turned colorful with a green hue, with flowers also blossoming, the scent of the orchid flowers made it more mesmerizing.
Coming back to the day of travel from Delhi, I offered my Eid Namaz at 6:30 am at the majestic Jama Masjid.
As always Jama Masjid was frequented by scores of people to offer the prayers and also representatives of various news channels communicating with people to share the experiences.
As the call of the prayer started, noise from the people’s chattering turned into pin drop silence with prayer of the Imam sahib emanating from the mic of the masjid as if the prayers were uniting the hearts with God and people. The silence in the prayer was broken by the sound of the drone flying over the head to capture the moments. I was like “wow” the improvement of technology to say the least. Technology marrying religious beliefs. I wonder if it is Boon or Bane. Let’s not delve into it.
As the Namaz concluded, the customary greetings and hugs being exchanged, me and my friend took some classical pictures of the majestic age old Jama Masjid standing in its full glory and in a ziffy reached AL Jawahar restaurant for breakfast.
We had the scrumptious and mouthwatering khameri rotis, mutton stew, mutton nahari. In Front of Al-Jawahar restaurant, the customary shahi Tukda and chai.
As it was early morning prayer, I returned home and after a nap got ready for the adventurous road trip.
This was the maiden trip with the Big Daddy and I wondered how it would fare in narrow mountain tracks. Well, there was just one way to find out and accordingly me and my wife packed ourselves in the Scorpio-4Xplore and commenced our drive towards Mashobra.
We made good progress till zirakpur and after a quick chai break the four lane highways started giving way to mountainous roads. We tanked up the car at Zirakpur. Nowadays the roads till Shimla have become broad even the mountain roads except for patches where it was damaged by last year’s landslide.
The performance of the ScorpioN 4Xplor was impeccable so to say the least. Roads, no roads, water crossing it just cruised through like a beast but of course with comfort guaranteed. Thanks to Mahindra for creating this mechanical genius.
It was an 8 hours comfortable drive to reach Manla Village. It was around 370 kms one way. To our utter disbelief it was cold at night, a respite from the Delhi heat. We stayed there for two nights exploring the nearby places and returned to Delhi.
While returning back from Himachal don’t forget to relish impeccable mutton curry and keema with rice at Asli Puran Singh Dhaba near the Ambala Bus Stand
