Know About Delhi Metro Obscenity Patrolling
The problem of couples in urban areas causing obscenity has recently attracted discussion after various instances of obscene acts of couples caught and circulated on the internet by netizens occurred inside Delhi Metro. Due to their high rates of population density and use of public transit, metro areas frequently serve as gathering places for a variety of people. However, certain instances of couples’ public displays of affection (PDA) have sparked worries about obscenity. It can be considered improper conduct when a public expression of affection surpasses certain lines and becomes explicit or obnoxious. Kissing, groping, and other personal acts in public places fall under this category. Such conduct is viewed as a breach of social standards and might make other passengers uncomfortable.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) maintains a zero-tolerance policy for acts that qualify as sexual harassment and indecent behavior. Which is dedicated to always offer the general traveling public a safe and secure environment. Following the outcry produced by a few viral films that were recorded inside the metro trains, DMRC has taken measures to address “obscenity” in the trains. It has chosen to send out extra flying squads to patrol metro coaches, made up of police and members of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
The DMRC will utilize CCTV cameras installed inside the coaches and will also put cameras in older coaches on the Red Line of the metro to monitor any objectionable behavior in order to safeguard the safety of the passengers. The flying squads will make a concerted effort to guarantee passengers’ safety. A hotline number, 155370, has also been established by DMRC so that any undesirable behavior may be reported. The flying squads will now keep an eye out for any incidents of “obscenity” in addition to their former duty of preventing men from entering women’s carriages. Five flying squads make up DMRC. Each flying squad will have three to four people as a result of an increase in these numbers.
Two recordings of offensive behavior in the Delhi Metro went viral in April, underscoring the necessity for such action. A passenger was recorded masturbating in one video, while a girl wearing a bralette was visible in another.
Patrolling by 100 Cops
The next time you want to cuddle up with your significant other on the Delhi Metro, you might want to reconsider. While you may view the situation as “romantic,” other passengers may view it as “obscene,” in which case they may call the police, who have 100 officers on the scene just to deal with this “nuisance.” Now, more than a hundred members of the Delhi Police will patrol the metro stations wearing civilian clothing. The action was taken in response to a slew of “obscene” acts within the Delhi Metro.
The violators would be fined Rs 200 by the DMRC employees who make up the flying squads in accordance with Section 59 of the Delhi Metro Railway (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002. The Delhi Police will also press obscenity charges against the violators.
Conclusion
It is crucial to ask people to avoid from actions that can be considered indecent or explicit when utilizing the Delhi Metro. Maintaining a polite and welcoming atmosphere for all riders is essential, as evidenced by the recent deployment of Delhi Police officers wearing civilian clothing to patrol metro compartments. We can all have a more enjoyable commute if we refrain from acting in these ways. It’s important to respect other people’s comfort and social conventions in public places like the Delhi Metro. It is critical to keep in mind that our actions affect others around us, and that by exercising consideration, we may foster peaceful coexistence. Let’s work to make the Delhi Metro a place where everyone feel respected, protected, and comfortable. All commuters would enjoy the environment if a culture of respect and understanding is promoted. By working together, we can ensure that everyone utilizing the Delhi Metro has a great and pleasurable experience.
