Required Documents for the UK Tier 2 Visa:

  •  Sponsorship certificate / job offer letter from a licensed UK company.
  •  Academic/Professional Certificates.
  •  Current Employment Data.
  •  Awards/Certificates for Outstanding Achievement.
  •  Last year’s current salary and bank statements.
  •  Adequate means of living for the principal applicant and their dependents (if any).
  •  Valid passport with travel history/immigrant visa stamped.
  •  English proficiency test results and authorization from an accredited testing agency.
  •  Her NOC for criminal record after police check.
  •  Birth certificate and marriage certificate.
  •  Social Security number, travel and health insurance information.

General Documents required for UK Work Visa for Indians:

  • Valid passport of atleast 6 months

  • Sponsorship certificate reference number

How to apply for a UK Work Visa by an Indian?

Choose the appropriate work visa you need to travel to the UK. Indians need to invest at least £2,000,000 in the UK to apply for a UK Tier 1 visa.

  • First, complete the online application form for a UK work visa. GOV.UK – The best place to find government services and information (apply to visit or live at uk.homeoffice.gov.uk). You can also visit a consulting firm like Itzeazy.
  • Pay $400 in Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) fees. You must also pay the required fees for the visa you have applied for.

You will receive an email with the result of your UK work visa application, usually within three weeks from the date of application.

The processing time for UK work visa in India

You must apply for the appropriate UK work permit from India 3-6 months prior to the appointment date stated in your job offer letter. In India, the UK Work Visa approval decision for Indians is completed within 3-4 weeks after the interview.

Validity for UK work visa

You can stay on a Tier 2 visa for a maximum of 5 years. You can stay for a maximum of 5 years and 14 days on a Tier 2 visa or for the period shown on your sponsorship certificate plus 1 month, whichever is shorter. The duration of a UK work visa for Indians depends on the length of your employment contract.

A Tier 1 visa can be extended for up to 30 days and a Tier 2 visa can be extended for up to one year after its expiry.
