JetBlue is adding daily nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale and Cleveland from July 8, 2026

JetBlue is deepening its commitment to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) with the launch of new daily nonstop service to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE), set to begin July 8, 2026. The announcement reinforces JetBlue's position as the largest carrier at FLL and forms part of a broader summer expansion plan that also sees increased frequencies across nine existing routes from South Florida.

The Cleveland launch follows a strong 12-month run at Fort Lauderdale that included 21 new city launches and nearly 32 additional daily departures — growth that signals JetBlue's confidence in South Florida as a long-term strategic hub.

Fort Lauderdale to Cleveland: Route Details

The new daily service between FLL and CLE is designed around traveler convenience. Southbound flights depart Fort Lauderdale at 8:55 PM, arriving Cleveland at 11:59 PM. The return from Cleveland departs at 8:00 AM, touching down back in Fort Lauderdale by 10:55 AM — a schedule that suits both overnight business trips and weekend leisure getaways.

Service begins July 8, 2026, with tickets already available on JetBlue's website and mobile app.

Nine Existing Routes Getting Frequency Boosts

Starting July 9, 2026, JetBlue is adding capacity across nine popular routes from Fort Lauderdale, responding to strong leisure and business demand heading into the peak summer season:

Route Added Frequency New Total
Atlanta (ATL) +1 daily 4× daily
Aruba (AUA) +4 weekly 1× daily
Newark (EWR) +1 daily 4× daily
Jacksonville (JAX) +1 daily 2× daily
Las Vegas (LAS) +1 daily 3× daily
Norfolk (ORF) +2 weekly 1× daily
Philadelphia (PHL) +1 daily 3× daily
Santo Domingo (SDQ) +1 daily 2× daily
St. Maarten (SXM) +3 weekly 1× daily

The expanded Caribbean frequencies — particularly to Aruba, Santo Domingo, and St. Maarten — signal JetBlue's continued push into the leisure travel market where the airline competes most aggressively.

TrueBlue Bonus Points Promotion

To mark the new launch, JetBlue is running a targeted promotion for TrueBlue loyalty members. Members who book between March 26 and March 29, 2026 will earn 2,500 bonus TrueBlue points on eligible flights. The offer applies to new bookings only, excludes Blue Basic fares, and points are credited following completion of eligible travel.

Onboard Experience

Passengers on the Fort Lauderdale-Cleveland route will enjoy JetBlue's full standard product, including free unlimited Fly-Fi inflight Wi-Fi, seatback entertainment screens, and complimentary snacks and beverages throughout the flight. For a domestic route just over two hours, the inflight offering is among the strongest in its class.

Why Cleveland?

Often overlooked in favor of Chicago or Detroit, Cleveland has been quietly building a compelling case as a Midwest destination. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame remains a landmark attraction drawing visitors annually, while the West Side Market offers a ground-level view of the city's diverse immigrant food heritage. University Circle packs the Cleveland Museum of Art and Cleveland Museum of Natural History into a walkable cultural district.

Sports fans are well served — the Cleveland Guardians (MLB), Cleveland Browns (NFL), and Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA) all play within close proximity of downtown, making the city a genuine multi-sport destination. The dining scene has evolved significantly, with the Great Lakes Brewing Co., Mabel's BBQ, and Cordelia representing the range from classic Midwest brewery culture to contemporary fine dining.

For South Florida residents wanting a budget-friendly Midwest escape without a connecting flight, Cleveland is now a direct flight away.

JetBlue's FLL Strategy

JetBlue's expansion pattern at Fort Lauderdale reflects a deliberate strategy: own the South Florida leisure market by offering the broadest domestic and Caribbean network from a single hub. The addition of Cleveland — a city that previously lacked a nonstop FLL link — continues that playbook by opening a route where no direct competition existed.

With 21 new city launches in the past year and a growing frequency base across established routes, JetBlue appears committed to making FLL a hub that can genuinely compete with Miami International for Florida's outbound travel market.
