Introduction to Iran Waives off Visa Requirement for Indians
Ezzatollah Zarghami, the Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, announced that Iran has eliminated the need for visas for 32 more nations in addition to India. According to him, this will increase travel and gradually subdue anti-Iranian propaganda.

Speaking to reporters during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Zarghami stated that the goal of the move is to increase tourism arrivals and draw in more travellers from around the globe.
He asserted that initiatives to increase travel can counteract anti-Iranian propaganda.

Vietnam, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka have recently eliminated the need for visas for Indian tourists. According to a recent McKinsey report, India has one of the fastest expanding markets for outbound tourism, with 13 million Indian visitors expected to travel abroad by 2022.
Iran had previously exempted travellers from Turkey, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Oman, China, Armenia, Lebanon, and Syria from the need for a visa.
In the first eight months of the current Iranian year, which began in March, 4.4 million foreigners arrived in Iran, according to IRNA. When compared to the same period previous year, there has been a 48.5% gain.

Currently, Indians can enter 27 countries without a visa. Kenya, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka are among the most recent arrivals.
Barbados, Bhutan, Dominica, Haiti, Maldives, Mauritius, Nepal, Samoa, Trinidad & Tobago, and other nations are also free of visa requirements for Indian nationals.

India, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Mauritania, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Seychelles, Indonesia, Darussalam, Japan, Singapore, Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Brazil, Peru, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, and Belarus are among the 33 nations that have been granted approval for Iran’s new visa-waiver programme.
Iran used to waive visa requirements for travellers from Turkiye, the Republic of Azerbaijan, China, Armenia, Lebanon, and Syria.
Based on the most recent data, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (which began on March 21), there were 4.4 million foreign visitors in Iran, up 48.5% from the same time the previous year.
