Introduction Blue Aadhar Card for Children

In India, the Aadhaar Card is a crucial piece of documentation for confirming identity and address. As a result, the Indian government also created the Baal Aaadhar Card, an aadhar card for kids under the age of five. It is connected to one parent’s Aadhaar card and issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

What is a Blue Aadhar Card? Or Aadhar for kids

The UIDAI introduced the “Baal Aadhaar” card, a new Aadhaar number type, in 2018. Unlike the standard adult white Aadhaar card, it is blue in hue. For a child under five years old, this Blue Aadhaar card has a 12-digit unique identity number.

A youngster under the age of five will not have their biometrics taken, unlike adults. His or her UID will be processed using demographic data and a face photo that is connected to their parents’ UIDs. However, the child’s biometrics—ten fingers, iris, and facial photos—must be updated when the child becomes five and again when the child turns fifteen. If not, the biometrics lose their validity after the child turns five. Teen Aadhaar cardholders can update their biometrics for free.

What requirements are needed to obtain a Blue Aadhaar card?

Baal, or Blue Aadhaar, cards are intended exclusively for kids under five years old, especially babies. Since the cards are processed using the demographic data and face photo associated with their parents’ UID, no biometrics are needed.
