Lombok generally remains in the shadow of the most popular tourist attraction in Indonesia that is Bali. But Lombok has a lot to offer.
This blog will highlight the top places to visit in Lombok.
Gili Tarangwan, Gili Meno And Gili Air
In the local Sasak language, Gili means “small islands”. There are other gilis around mainland Lombok, but the Gili Islands usually refer to these three sister islands: Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air.
The Gili Islands — Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air — have many things in common: idyllic beaches, exotic marine species roaming the crystal clear water, and a laid-back beach vibe that makes you want to drink a cocktail out of a coconut. Each island has its own unique characteristics that give travellers a well-rounded experience

The name Benang Stokel means a bundle of thread. This waterfall is divided into two parts and each of them is as high as 20 meters. The water is so clean and fresh, so you can jump on it. The water comes from a river upstream on Mount Rinjani. You can swim under the waterfall because there is a huge pond under the waterfall. The water flows to the river on a lower level. The clean and clear water allows you to see the base of the pond. If you have your children with you, make sure to take them to a river that is located about 50 meters from the waterfall. This river is shallow and has calm water, so it is perfect for children. They can play and swim on the Mount
Mount Rinjani Trekking in Lombok
The mighty Rinjani mountain of Gunung Rinjani is a massive volcano which towers over the island of Lombok. A climb to the top is one of the most exhilarating experiences you can have in Indonesia. At 3,726 meters tall, Gunung Rinjani is the second highest mountain in Indonesia. The climb to the top may not be easy but it’s worth it, and is widely regarded as one of the best views in the country.
Part of the famous ‘ring of fire’ , this mountain also holds spiritual significance for the local people. It’s thought that the name Rinjani comes from an old Javanese term for ‘God’.
For visitors, the three-day Rinjani trek route from Senaru to the crater rim, down to the Crater Lake then on to Sembalun Lawang, is considered one of the best treks in South East Asia. More adventurous trekkers may want to head all the way to the summit of the volcano. This is best reached from Sembalun Lawang and takes four days, finishing up in Senaru.
Tanjung Aan Beach
Lombok island Indonesia has so many stunning beaches, moreover on the south coast. One of the beaches that should be in your Lombok tourism list is Tanjung Aan Beach, the home of Princess Mandalika. The beach is facing the Indian Ocean with about 2 km of stretched coastline. One thing that you will directly notice when you hit your feet on Tanjung Aan Beach is the sand. Unlike other Lombok beaches, the sand of this beach is really soft and white.
Tanjung Aan Beach is surrounded by some hills and you can get easy access to the hills to see Tanjung Aan Beach from the higher level. Around this lombok tourism, you will find some wooden umbrellas with braided straw roofs. This is one of the best ways to enjoy the beach; you can tan your skin and grab your coconut that you can buy there. You can also find rows of restaurants that serve various foods and beverages that can be enjoyed together with the magnificent view of Tanjung Aan Beach.
During the holiday, most of the tourists are domestic tourists, but if you visit Tanjung Aan at Lombok Indonesia around February, the beach will be filled by both domestic and international tourists because there is a special event called as Bau Nyale ritual.

Dese Sasak Sade Village Tourism Lombok Indonesia
The Traditional Villages of Lombok will give us more information about the history and culture of the Sasak Tribe. The Sasak are the native people of Lombok.
Sasak Sade is one of Lombok’s indigenous villages. One that will immerse you into the unique, colorful and musical culture of the Sasak Village of Lombok. A short drive south from Praya is the traditional Sasak Village of Sade, which provides an amazing insight into traditional Sasak life. In fact, 700 people are currently residing in the village. And it is not a museum nor only for the tourists. But it is a real village that has been inhabited by the indigenous people of Lombok for a long time. The village consists of around 150 households living in thatched houses with walls of cow dung, which is freshly applied to the house every month to repel mosquitoes and keep the house cool. But amazingly, there was no smell of cow dung on the dry floor. Here you can also visit several homes, get the low-down on family life and guys will enjoy learning how to ‘kidnap’ a bride. Don’t forget to watch the amazing Ikat Weaving.
Sasak homes are known for their interesting construction methods. Wooden pillars and frames, bamboo walls, and alang-alang (woven grass) roofs are standard — no nails or metal tools are used in the construction of these sturdy “lumbung” huts found in abundance in Ende. Lumbungs are traditionally used for grain storage. Clay floors are polished with dried cow dung in a ritual said to keep mosquitos at bay
