So, We have majority of the population in Bangalore are IT Professionals. I am going to discuss “The Best Places to Live in Bangalore for IT Professionals” based on various factors after COVID-19.
I am going to describe living in posh apartments Prestige, Sobha, Brigade, SLV as well as living in independent buildings. I will talk about relevant factors like rent, water availability, access to IT Parks, cost of living, etc. Looking at the current scenario I will mainly focus on rent, water availability, and travel time to the office. Being a software engineer, I have shifted multiple times because of office location.
I have compiled the list based on my personal experience. Let’s dive into our list of “The Best Places to Live in Bangalore for IT Professionals”.
The first location is “VARTHUR”, which got developed a few years back and easily covers 60-70% of IT parks.
Varthur #1
Varthur is located in the eastern part of Bengaluru. It has become quite famous in recent days because of its location. Posh societies like Prestige Lakeside Habitat, Brigade Cornerstone Utopia, and SOBHA Dream Acres were recently built and delivered flats to 15000(approx.) families. If you are staying in Varthur, you can easily get access to Whitefield, Bellendur, Marathalli, and HSR Layout. The Major IT parks are located in these areas. That’s why it is considered “The Best Place to Live in Bangalore for IT Professionals“.
Although there is traffic near Varthur Lake in rush hours, It is considered the best place to live as a new highway is being constructed which connects Electronic City. There was a big challenge and traffic while going towards Kadubeesanahalli, Bellandur, and Kundalahalli. But, the Kadubeesanahalli railway underpass is almost complete and a few more alternative roads are being developed. Eventually, the traffic will be minimized.
You can cover 70% of IT parks from this location. There are many routes to connect Whitefield, Electronic City, Bellandur, HSR Layout, MG Road, Marathalli, and Silk Board. I would like to discuss about the spike in Rent after COVID-19 in this area. The rent of 2 BHK went up to 60K because of sudden demand after COVID-19. But, The Rent has come to the normal range(35-40K) now. You can get 2BHK in Posh society in 35-40K per month. The Flate prices are dropping now. You can get 2BHK in an Independent building in 18-30K per month.

Kannamangala locality is the Best Place to Live in Bangalore for IT Professionals who work in Whitefield. Posh apartments like Assetz Marq, Sumadhura Eden Garden, and Brigade Exotica are located in this area. Mid-level apartments like VBHC Serene Town, SMD Altezz, and Mantri Global Heights are situated in Kannamangala, Seegehalli locality. In a nutshell, I am talking about Kannamangala Road which connects Hoskote Highway and Whitefield via Seegehalli.
Most of these locality are calm and less crowded. This area is my favorite as I am working in Whitefield. There will be little traffic near Kadugudi flyover but it’s manageable. There is no scarcity of water in Kannamangala. Some societies are still getting underground water as KR Puram and a few more lakes are nearby. Many new apartments are under construction, so things may change in the future.
You can easily cover the Whitefield area and can manage to go to KR Puram, Indiranagar, and MG Road via Hoskote Highway. If your office is located in these areas, then Kannamangala is the Best Place to Live in Bangalore for IT Professionals.

There are some cheap places like Chandapura, Jigni, etc to live near Electronic City where you will get a flat in an independent house. The locality is mostly dependent on water tankers only. The water bed has gone down in this area.

There is little shortage of water and all the Apartment depends on water tankers. Silk Board is 20 minutes from here, eco space is also around 25 minutes from here.
