Photos: Atif on behalf of Zia Family

Atif Zia had travelled far and wide and has been a meat connoisseur. Being a foodie, I always asked him about what cuisines he loved the most? He simply said, ” Ammi se accha koi banata hi nahi hai, kahin ka khana pasand nahi ata” (Nobody cooks like my mother). This is not an exaggeration, its a fact. I have attended their family iftaar many times. We have heard about chefs that devote a lifetime to perfect a biryani recipe, his mother can make 3-4 different biryani variations, based on regions.

What your’e about to see in breathtaking images, (imagine your’e soaking in the aroma) has taken years to master and a lifetime to perfect.

To Sum it all up..

Some say food is necessary for survival. Few preach that food is an art. These culinary wonders are created in every home. World is full of sheros that are taking care of their families and making homes. I urge everyone to take a pledge to help them in kitchen. They have been preserving history through these recipes. May this knowledge pass on for generations to come.

This is our way of bringing these stories to the people. Lets take a moment to applaud their love.

Thank you Atif for sharing this with us and making my childhood memorable.

These are just a few of her masterpieces. Stay tuned with us for Part 2 that premieres next Friday.
