Lockerly Arboretum
Visitors are welcome to visit the Arboretum’s grounds from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday, and 10:00am to 4:00pm Saturdays. Rose Hill, a historic Greek Revival house that is the centerpiece of Lockerly Arboretum, is the arboretum’s main attraction.
You can visit the mansion and enjoy a picnic at the pond. Then, you can stroll the grounds along the trails. Rose Hill self-guided tours cost a small fee.

Bartram Forest Wildlife Management Area
The Bartram Forest and Wildlife Management Area is named after John and William Bartram who were the first colonial American naturalists. It’s located in Milledgeville and covers 1343 acres. Visitors can spend several hours in the forest by foot or bicycle. The trails wind through pine forests, meadows, and along waterways.
There are trails that range in difficulty from green to red and offer something for everyone. Visitors can also learn more about local fauna and flora at the educational kiosk and pavilion. Archery hunting is also available in the larger Wildlife Management Area.

St. Stephen's Episcopal Church

The history of the South was shaped by the St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Milledgeville, Georgia. Consecrated in 1843 and built in 1841, it played an important role in its founding. The beautiful church was badly damaged by General Sherman’s troops during the famous “March to the Sea” in November 1864.
They ransacked the building and poured molasses into the organ pipes. Horses were also kept inside. The nearby armory was also destroyed. The beautiful St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in the historic Statehouse Square has been rebuilt since then.

Andalusia Farm
Flannery O’Connor was once the home of the Andalusia farm in Milledgeville. It was established in 1814. The farm was used as a cotton plantation and a farm until Dr. Bernard Cline bought it in 1931. It was used to raise beef and dairy cattle and had fourteen buildings spread over 520 acres.
Flannery O’Connor spent thirteen years at Andalusia farm, where she wrote most of her literary works. These settings were influenced by the farm’s environment. The grounds are now a museum, and visitors can take guided tours.

The Sallie Ellis Davis House
One of the most passionate and dedicated teachers in Baldwin County was once a resident of the Sallie Ellis Davis House, Milledgeville, Georgia. The William P Wall Museum of Natural History opened its doors in 2004 and quickly became a top-rated museum in the middle of Georgia.
