Lake Fenwick Park #2

It is a pleasant walk to the lake. Then you reach the 177-step staircase. The trail begins on a boardwalk that leads past an apartment building and then into the forest. Before the steep climb, there are easy rambling hills that get your blood pumping.

They are 177 steps to the top of the hike. The trail descends towards the lake after a few high fives and deep breathes. You’ll find a grassy area to enjoy a snack or break as you wrap around the lake. The newly-renovated floating boardwalk is located just beyond the large field.

Saltwater State Park #3

Saltwater State Park lies midway between Seattle and Tacoma. It is an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life. It features a mixture of forest trails and 1,445 feet on the Puget Sound’s stunning saltwater shoreline. You can also visit McSorley Creek to see the salmon spawning seasonally.

Mary Olson Farm #4

Mary Olson Farm, Green River Road, is considered the best subsistence farm in King County. The farm was once owned by Alfred and Mary Olsen. It is now a tourist attraction. The farm also has a restored barn from 1897 that is open to the public for tours.

You can also visit the 1902 farmhouse, as well as the century-old cherry and apple orchards. Other structures, including farm attractions, were also preserved and restored. These structures include a smokehouse, weaving shed, chicken coop, and an older wagon road.

Pacific Raceways #5

Pacific Raceways was established in 1960 as a racing track and motorsports facility. The track is managed and owned by the Fiorito family. It was constructed by Dan Fiorito Sr. with his two sons. To provide a safe racing environment, they wanted to build a motorsports facility. The track is 2.25 miles long and features nine turns. There’s also a 110-foot elevation difference.

This course was raced by internationally renowned drivers who enjoyed the track’s design and driving experience. Pacific Raceways is home to professional drivers and law enforcement agencies that come here for pursuit driving. The Pacific Grand Prix is also held here.

Kent Station #6

Kent Station is a train station located in the northern part of Kent. In 2001, the trains began to run and King County Metro started bus service a few years later. There are two platforms at the station that connect to a pedestrian bridge, a parking lot, and several bus bays. Cornucopia is a public art installation that can be found near the station.

 The art exhibit includes several sculptures depicting Kent’s agricultural history. Some pieces include a river mosaic and trellises. Sound Transit and the local government played an important role in this project’s completion.

Hydroplane & Race Boat Museum #7

Locals and tourists can “race through the history” at Kent’s Hydroplane & Race Boat Museum. This museum pays homage to one the most famous sports in the Pacific Northwest. The Hydroplane and Race Boat Museum is the only place in the world where you can see high-speed powerboats up close.
