Vinings was named officially in 1840, when it became a stop on the Western and Atlantic Railroad’s construction line. William H. Vining was the principal architect of this stop. He was sent there to build a railroad bridge. Many supplies were quickly sent to Vining’s station during this time and the Vinings name was soon adopted.

Truist Park

Truist Park is a stadium for baseball in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s located approximately 10 miles north of downtown Atlanta, in the unincorporated community Cumberland in Cobb County.

Vinings Historic Preservation Society

The Vinings Historic Preservation Society (VHPS) was established by a great-great-granddaughter of early Vinings settler Hardy Pace. The Old Pavilion (1874), and Yarbrough House (1880) are the three properties of Vinings and they help define the village.

The Silver Comet Trail

The Silver Comet Trail runs through west-northwestern Georgia. The Silver Comet is a pedestrian-only paved rail-trail that runs 13 miles north of Atlanta, Georgia.

Cumberland Mall

Cumberland Mall is located in the Cumberland area of Metropolitan Atlanta, near Vinings and Smyrna. When it opened, August 8, 1973, it was the largest mall in Georgia. Costco, Planet Fitness and Dick’s Sporting Goods are the anchor stores.

Historic Pace House & Pavilion

The Pace House is composed of three rooms: a Parlor, a Dining Room and a Bridal Room. The Old Pavilion is located adjacent to The Pace House. It was once a popular spot where the old Atlanta Society danced and entertained the evening away from the late 1800’s until the early 1900s.
