Turner lake

The park is located on the 26-acre Turner Lake. It covers 158 acres and features walking trails, a gym, a four-field softball field, a football field as well as a senior citizens center. Eastside Trail

The 2.5-mile multi-use greenway trail, Eastside Trail, runs from Chimney Park to Eastside High School. It also passes the Newton County Library and Chimney Park. The concrete path, which measures 10 feet wide, was opened in the early 2013 at Ramsey Drive in Covington.

It is located west of the Newton County Public Library. The trail winds gently through the woods and over rolling terrain before dropping down to cross Martin St at Hazelbrand Rd. Four wooden boardwalk sections run through forest wetlands. Much of the landscape is pleasantly wooded and there are four wooden boardwalks over wetlands.
