Denver Museum of Nature & Science

Denver Center for the Performing Arts
The Denver Center for the Performing Arts is located on the south side Larimar Square. It is a huge cultural center. It includes the Auditorium Theater, Boettcher Concert Hall and Ellie Caulkins Opera House. You can find entertainment nightlife here.

Denver Botanic Gardens
Denver Botanic Gardens was established in late 1950s. It occupies 23 acres near Cheesman Park. It is committed to preserving native plants and using sustainable, responsible practices. The gardens also feature plants from around the globe. There are 43 gardens in total, some in natural settings, while others are set up in formal gardens.
The Japanese Garden, Marnie’s Pavilion, which features orchids, ferns and waterfalls, is one of the highlights. Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art
The Kirkland Museum has a large collection of decorative arts from 1880 to 1980. All major design periods are represented, including Arts & Crafts and Pop Art. With hundreds of works, you can also find documentation for regional modernist art from 1875 to 1980 with a particular focus on Colorado.
Vance Kirkland (1904-1981), Colorado’s most prominent painter, is a retrospective in the museum. The museum houses all three collections in a 1911 Arts & Crafts Building, Denver’s oldest commercial art building. Kirkland Museum is a member Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios. This program is run by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Art Museum
The Denver Art Museum is a fortress-like structure with a large collection that includes American Indian, African and European art, as well as Oceanic art. The collection also includes Spanish colonial and precolombian art.

Visit Coors Field and Take a Tour
The Colorado Rockies baseball team’s home is Coors Field. It has a capacity of 50,200. The Rocky Mountains can be seen from the seats at the 1st baseline. The facility is open for tours year round. They are a great way to get to know the facility and experience some of the behind-the scenes action.
Tickets are limited and tickets are only available in a certain amount each day. Advance purchases are recommended. The tours last less than 1.5 hours and are accessible for people with disabilities.

8. Denver Zoo

Colorado State Capitol
The State Capitol is located on Civic Center Park’s east side, on a hill at 250 feet. It is a classical-style building. The magnificent views of the Front Range and the skyline of the city can be seen from the viewing platform at the dome’s drum. The Capitol’s 13th step is located on the Capitol’s west side. It is approximately one mile above the sea level. This gives it its name, “mile high city.”

Larimer Square
Larimer Square is a great example of urban rehabilitation in Denver. It features well-restored Civil War-era buildings. Larimer Square was established as Denver’s first historical district in 1971. 12. Shop and Stroll along 16th Street Mall
The 16th Street Mall runs through the city’s center. It is a European-style pedestrian precinct with shade trees, flowerbeds and benches. There is no traffic except for a shuttle bus. There are many shops, souvenir shops and restaurants along the street. Numerous modern and post-modern skyscrapers can be found near the street’s south end.
I.M., a world-famous architect, designed the mall. Pei was the architect who designed the pyramid at Paris’ Louvre. The mall is lit by more than one million lights at night. It’s a great place to walk on warm summer evenings.
United States Mint
The U.S. Mint is one of six United States facilities located just beyond the City and County Building. Here is where the American currency and a portion of the country’s precious metal reserves are created.

The green, cool, and shaded Civic Center Park is located in the heart of Denver. It has many monuments and was designed in Classical style. The park’s outskirts contain the principal administrative buildings of Colorado. Colfax Ave runs 26 miles east-to-west through Denver along its north side. It is America’s longest street.
Cherry Creek North
Cherry Creek North, located just south and east from the Downtown, is Denver’s most well-known shopping area. It’s home to a variety of boutique shops, luxury, and art galleries. The 16-block, flower-filled neighborhood has many restaurants that offer cuisines from all over the world.
Cherry Creek hosts many events throughout the year. The most well-known is the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. This festival attracts international and national artists in a variety of mediums, including jewelry, painting, and ceramics. The district is located between Steele Street and University Boulevard to its east and west.

Clyfford Still Museum
Clyfford Still was part of the first generation Abstract Expressionist artists. He is widely considered to be one of 20th century’s most important painters.
