Everyone wants to visit this extraordinary place because of its rich culture but have you ever thought of how to travel to India and what are the laws you should keep in mind while travelling to India. 

TOURISM

There are incredible sites to be seen and discovered in India. It is the historical gem it can be called as the Land of peace and the spirituality it is actually the natural Paradise it is best in hospitality . The tourists would visit to enjoy the kingdom of luxury.

Well we are here to tell you what are the laws you should keep in mind while travelling to India:

1. Every foreigner must register himself within 14 days or 24 hours in case of a tourist from Pakistan at Foreign Regional Registration Office unless mentioned otherwise in his Visa. This can be done at the airport itself.  Foreigners visiting India for a period of 180 days or less needn’t register themselves.

2. If you do not provide your necessary documents and passport , ID proof etc to the hotel management then they have every right to call the police if not done so.

3. Visitors to India must obtain a visa from an India diplomatic mission unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries or a country whose citizens may obtain a Visa on arrival or an e visa online.

Citizens of Maldives do not require visas to enter India for 90 days.

ETA can be issued for tourism, visiting friends, family or short duration or medical treatment and business.

An application for E visa must be made at least 4 calendar days in advance of the date of arrival and can be made as early as 120 days in advance

4. Various states in India have different laws regarding consumption of alcohol .

In some states like Gujarat and Bihar have no-alcohol policy all year round some states may have alcohol banned during elections . Additionally carrying alcohol between states is often illegal due to varying alcohol laws of the state. Alcohol is prohibited in Bihar, Gujarat, Mizoram, Nagaland and the union territories of Lakshadweep. There is partial ban in some districts in Manipur.

5. Any antique item bought or transported between places must be registered with the local police, along with photography of it.

6. Foreign nationalists mustn’t engage in public nudity unless they are within an area that’s dedicated for the purpose, like the nude beach in Goa

7. Smoking is banned in public places with the exceptions of airport hotels and restaurants with designated smoking areas you will be unable to buy e cigarettes in India or bring them into the country it’s better not to get involved with illegal drugs there is no categorising of drugs into class A B or C there is a minimum sentence of six months for positions of a small amount of deemed for personal consumption only.

8. Failure to declare contents you are carrying which may be prohibited or subject to a tax or duty payment can lead to heavy penalties including imprisonment.

9. It is illegal to buy, sell, kill or capture any protected wildlife animal or trade its parts without a licence.

10.You don’t want to be got caught with drugs in India. There is no categorising of drugs into Class A, B and C. There is a minimum sentence of 6 months for possession of small amounts deemed for personal consumption only. A 10-year sentence for possession of other amounts applies. The judicial process is slow and pre-trial detention lasting several years is normal.
