Jose de la Luz Linares was awarded the 4,340-acre (1.760 ha) Mexican Land Grant Rancho Los Nogales (Ranch of the Walnut trees) by Governor Juan Alvarado in 1840. Brea Canyon was included in the land grant, as well as the eastern Walnut Val. Linares was killed in 1847. His widow, Ricardo Vejar, sold a portion of the ranch for $100 in merchandise and 100 calves and assumed her husband’s debts. Vejar also owned Rancho Nogales to the east and the Rancho San Jose.

Raging Waters, San Dimas
Raging Waters is not the best waterpark in California. This 60-acre watery paradise is home to more than 50 amazing slides, rides, and attractions.
The Aqua Rocket, a world-class attraction that is water-hydromagnetic and the only one in California, is a must-see attraction. The park’s seven-story drop is one of the highest in the country, and provides adrenaline.
You can also ride 600 feet at Neptune’s Fury, which allows you to reach speeds of up to 30 MPH.

Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park
This sprawling park covers a huge area of 1,975 acres and is full of outdoor fun all year. The park has a 250-acre lake and is the perfect place for anyone who loves to fish, jet ski, windsurf or sail.
There are many opportunities for land-based activities such as camping, bird watching and biking. The park also has a water park and a golf course.

This museum, located in Pomona, was established in 2003. It focuses on the history, technology, creation, and art in ceramics.

Brea City Hall Park
This park is home to a rose garden, grassy lawns and a beautiful mixture of Spanish Colonial and Art Deco styles. The urban oasis was established in 1928 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
