The Wende Museum
Justinian jampol established the Wende Museum as an art museum, historical archive and repository for items related to the Cold War. The museum is a nonprofit and contains more than 100,000 artifacts relating to the Soviet Union or Eastern Bloc. It was named after the German word “turning point” The exhibits and collections highlight the political and cultural histories and cultures of former Eastern Bloc countries like Czechoslovakia (Poland, Hungary, Romania), and East Germany. There are also extensive collections of Cold War-era artifacts by Eastern artists. The cutting-edge technology exhibits showcase important collections in furniture, textiles, clothing and multimedia.

The Museum of Jurassic Technology Culver City, California
The Museum of Jurassic Technology in Los Angeles’ Palms District is an internationally recognized and unique museum. It was established in 1988 by Diana Drake Wilson, and David Hildebrand Wilson. The museum is an extension Hildebrand’s cultural curiosities collections. It showcases eccentric exhibits on various topics and oddities in the style of Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Museums. It includes micro-miniature sculptures, outdated pseudoscientific remedies, information on fringe psychological theories, and information on biological and psychological theories. Although some of its presentations are not scientifically sound, the museum is widely regarded as an exceptional examination of knowledge-gathering. It was awarded the MacArthur Foundation Fellowship Award in 2001.

Baldwin Hills Scenic
Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook provides stunning views of downtown Los Angeles, at a height of over 500 feet. It is located just southwest the city’s downtown. Access to the summit can be made via a 1.2-mile hike uphill or via the 282-step Culver City Stairs staircase. The peak offers stunning views of some of the city’s most popular sights, including the Hollywood Hills, San Gabriel Mountains, or the Pacific Ocean coastline. At the trail’s entry, you will find a state of the art visitor center. It features exhibits that relate to the area’s past mining and drilling and a renewed outlook on conservation. You can also see wildflower displays during the seasons along the trail. This provides opportunities to bird- and wildlife watch.

Culver City park, Culver City. California
Culver City Park covers 41 acres and is open daily to the public. The park features a KOPMAN children’s playground, which is designed in Scandinavian style. You can also find traditional playgrounds that include slides and swings as well as a softball court, basketball court and skate park. You can also use the park’s covered picnic area and dog-friendly Pooch Path. You can visit the park from dawn until 10:00pm every day. There are public toilets available and free parking.

STAR Eco Station
STAR Eco Station in Culver is an environmental science museum that was opened in 1997 by Erick Bozzi, Kayta Bozzi, and their children. The museum is a collaboration with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and various federal environmental organizations. It offers rehabilitation services for abandoned exotic animals, with a particular focus on illegally-trafficked species. It strives for conservation and education by offering a variety educational programming to teach ecology and biology to students. Students and visitors can interact with wildcats, reptiles and rare birds in a tropical rainforest habitat. There are also discovery station exhibits created by the partners.

Sony Pictures Studio Tour, Culver City, California
Sony Pictures Studio Tour takes visitors back in time to Hollywood’s Golden Age. It allows them to tour the studios and soundstages behind the company’s iconic gates. The tours visit popular filming sites and sound stages used in acclaimed films such as The Wizard of Oz or Men in Black. You can also see sets for games like Jeopardy! Wheel of Fortune. For visitors aged 12 and over, tours last approximately 2 hours. They are held Mondays through Fridays at 4 times in the morning and after-hours. Twilight Tours of approximately two hours are offered throughout the summer months on Thursday evenings. These tours allow you to see sets and studios at night.
